The Flu Strikes Again!
Have you been noticing a lot of empty desks at work? Or maybe your favourite lunch buddy hasn’t been in for the past few days? Unfortunately, flu season is still in full swing across Ontario.
According to the Government of Canada, seasonal influenza activity continues to increase in Canada, with greater numbers of influenza detections, hospitalizations, and outbreaks being reported in the last two weeks of 2016. This means that your employees coming back from the holidays have a high chance of being exposed to the flu. This could be through their coworkers or anyone else they come into contact with outside of work.
The Government is also informing us that influenza-related activity in Ontario is at elevated seasonal levels and may be reaching peak levels this week. With the cold weather continuing and the influx of sickness over the holiday season, employees will continue to be at risk.
