Planning a Successful
Workplace Flu Clinic

It is almost that time of year again – the dreaded flu season. It always seems to start off with one employee calling in sick and continues to snowball until it begins to affect everyday productivity. However, this year can be different! Let us walk you through how to set-up a preventative workplace flu clinic to nip that flu in the “bug.”

Step 1: Call Apex

Call today to speak with our Flu Clinic Coordinator, Angie Wright. She’ll provide you with all of the necessary information to make the right decision to host a workplace flu clinic at your company.
This includes:

  • 2017-2018 Fee schedule
  • Planning checklist
  • Promotional material

Step 2: Book a Clinic

We’ll work with you to learn more about how your organization operates and provide suggestions on timing and how to best coordinate. This reduces the time your employees spend away from their workstations, while making the clinic effective and easy to introduce.

Step 3: Promote, promote, promote!

We’ll provide your representative with:

  • Posters
  • Influenza fact sheets
  • Email template to promote internally
  • Additional useful ideas to promote and run a successful workplace flu clinic

Promotion is key to make employees aware of the benefits of receiving the flu shot, and to make it a priority.

Step 4: Scheduled Clinic Day

A certified medical professional, RN, RPN or paramedic will be onsite at your facility to administer the flu shots. Immunization records will be provided to all participants. We would suggest refreshments be provided to all participants.

Step 5: Reap the Benefits of a Successful Flu Clinic

What are the benefits that your organization ultimately receive?

  • Reduced absenteeism
  • Reduced employee replacement and/or overtime costs
  • Decreased interruption of production
  • Cut extended health cost
  • Decreased disruptions in the workplace

Final Thoughts to Consider:

Employees are more likely to be vaccinated when a flu shot clinic is offered onsite.

A flu shot clinic is a strong contributor to an overall workplace wellness strategy,  as the employee can see that their organization is looking out for their health.
