2018 Review, Spotlight & Look Ahead: How Occupational Health Can Support Occupational Therapy
Introduction
The origins of the Ergonomic Equipment portion of our business were organic in nature – after experiencing a high volume of requests from current clients, Apex was motivated to provide a single source of quality equipment options. Drawing from our experiences performing assessments, and after performing extensive research on the current equipment marketplace and landscape, Apex hand-picked equipment suppliers to work with. Fast forward to current day: we offer a working showroom based out of our head office in Kitchener. We encourage all clients to visit and trial equipment for themselves!
Review — Rehabilitation & Lifecare Planning Symposium
In May, Apex had its inaugural visit to the Rehabilitation & Lifecare Planning Symposium in London, ON, hosted by DMA Rehability. We had the pleasure of meeting OT’s working in a variety of geographic locations ranging from London to Toronto areas. Symposium delegates enjoyed sitting in our ergoCentric chairs, exploring the upCentric sit/stand table, adjusting the Humanscale keyboard system, and for many, being introduced to the Roller mouse! Spotlight — Ergonomic Equipment Showroom and Occupational Therapy
In 2018, Apex has improved its physical presence relating to Ergonomic Equipment, in the form of our showroom! We have had the pleasure of connecting with and supporting Occupational Therapists (and their clients), specifically in the MVA and rehabilitative industries. In particular, there were several recent (March & April) examples of OT’s bringing their clients to our showroom during scheduled appointments and during open houses! These clients had the opportunity to go beyond online specs. They were able to touch and feel Ergonomic Equipment (e.g. chairs, sit/stand tables), and Accessories (e.g. keyboard systems, monitor arms). In addition, both OT’s and clients have appreciated the opportunity to ask questions and seek clarification from our Equipment experts.
Look Ahead – OSOT Conference 2018
We have added the October 2018 OSOT Conference in Richmond Hill to our list of events to attend! Apex is excited to attend and interact with members of the Ontario Society of Occupational Therapists. We look forward to joining OT professionals on the Journey to Excellence!
